What Is The Balthazar Stone About?
The creators of the game say this best so we’ll let them answer this one…
Can you unlock the ancient chest, find the Balthazar Stone and break the ancient curse?
The Balthazar Stone by The Mystery Agency is an award-winning escape-room puzzle to play at home. Join Elsa Winslow on her journey to Sharktooth Island. To solve the mystery, you must solve the many clues hidden in an ancient treasure chest to find Balthazar’s Stone and break its ancient curse.
Sounds like fun already… let’s take a look inside…
Our First Impressions
The first thing that strikes you about this play-at-home escape-room style puzzle is the sheer beauty of it all.
Even the box it comes in has been given a lot of thought, and when it arrived at Creepy Towers it impressed us from the off and we were very excited to get stuck in.
On opening the box you are met with an even more amazing chest, and this is where the quest begins.
What Sort of Puzzles Can You Expect?
You will need to crack the padlock code on the chest with the help of the old newspaper inside the box before you can get to the meat of the quest, which is a great way to get yourself in the mood and get a feel for what is to come.

As you progress through the game you use a mixture of maps, codes, physical clues and websites to get to the bottom of the mystery and ultimately find out what lies at the end of your Balthazar Stone adventure.
There are levels to the chest that you move through, and the puzzles for each level vary in difficulty with some being far more difficult than others, but never so much you would give up, and the clues are right there if you need a little nudge in the right direction.
How Long Does It Take to Complete The Balthazar Stone?
We didn’t worry about timing ourselves on this one so that we could enjoy it fully and really take in all the parts of it without panicking about the clock running down, but at a guess, it took us about an hour and a half to complete.
What Did We Think Of The Balthazar Stone?
We loved The Balthazar Stone from The Mystery Agency.
It has a great mix of well-designed puzzles using top-quality game materials that bring the whole thing to life, a sense of real mystery and, very important for a game like this, you really WANT to get all the way to the end.
This is one that we absolutely recommend you try yourself if you like these sorts of games, and as you are reading this review there is a good chance you do, you won’t regret it.
The only negative on this whole experience is we’ve done it now so we can’t do it again, but you can be sure we will be checking out the other games from The Mystery Agency, and hoping they bring out more in the future.
