SAW: The Experience – Review

Queuing up next to America Square you feel immersed in the SAW universe from the get go, but this isn’t part of the attraction, its a real life dirty, damp alley, and they couldn’t have chosen a more fitting location.

Upon entering given the opportunity to use the bathroom and secure your belongings in padlocked plastic storage bins, you are not allowed to take phones inside and a bag would just be irritating.

Heading in to a welcoming reception you are playing the role of an investor of a new apartment building and with the scene set you are taken for a tour of your new investment.

And that’s where it goes south…

We were put in to a team of six which was disappointing, we would have rather played as just the two of us who attended together, we didn’t successfully complete the first room due to not wanting to order strangers around or spoil the experience for them by not letting them play the game as they wanted to

The first room is classic saw, the bathroom from the first movie, it was really fun playing in such a familiar and iconic environment, the second room involved some crawling which was a little hard on the knees and the third room ties the story together but it does become clear that your performance throughout the game has no effect on the outcome of the story

There is a bar area when you leave but no tables so you are unable to sit and go over your experience and stay immersed in the SAW universe for a while longer, which is a shame.

All in all the experience was good, the games were fun but maybe a little challenging if you hadn’t done an escape room before
