The Krampus Museum Kitzbühel celebrates the rich regional Krampus tradition, showcasing authentic customs in a space provided by the city of Kitzbühel. Since its opening in April 2010, the museum has continually expanded, thanks to collaborative efforts with Ruat’n Pass Kitzbühel. The exhibition, featuring costumes and masks funded by voluntary donations and association activities, aims to provide visitors with new and immersive experiences, dispelling any fears associated with the Krampus tradition.
Immerse yourself in the captivating “World of Krampus” across more than 700 m², offering an escape from the ordinary. As you explore the museum, spanning from traditional pieces dating back to 1903 to contemporary and elaborate Krampus masks from 2019, you’ll be astonished by the variety. Discover an array of robes and accessories associated with Krampus figures. Additionally, visitors can observe a mask carver at work, posing questions, and even try their hand at carving under the guidance of an expert.
