In December 1918 a strange new illustration hit the newsstands. Created by Robert Ripley on a slow news day, this new series, called ‘Believe It Or Not!’, featured some of the weird and wonderful things that Robert loved to find out about.
Over the years he visited over 200 countries on his quest to find strange, unusual, weird but true stories and built up a massive collection of the wonderful things he saw on his travels.
Eventually, he had enough items to open the very first Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1933, and since then the idea has grown, opening many more around the globe.
Join us as we take you around some of the bizarre collections they have on show in Blackpool’s Ripley’s Believe It Or Not!
